The Secondary School Aptitude Test (SSAT) and the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) are the primary assessments used for admissions into independent and private junior high and high schools. As likely the first standardized tests your child encounters, selecting between them can be challenging. Rest assured, we are here to assist you in making an informed choice.
Test Registration
The SSAT is available only eight times a year, whereas the ISEE offers more frequent test dates. However, the ISEE can only be taken once every six months, which is an important factor to consider when managing deadlines.
There are four levels of the ISEE:
Primary (entrance to grades 2-4)
Lower (entrance to grades 5-6)
Middle (entrance to grades 7-8)
Upper (entrance to grades 9-12)
There are three levels of the SSAT:
